We are perhaps a little biased, but we truly believe there is no better location on the island for convenience, access to famous sites and activities, stunning food, and local atmosphere.
A summer night’s stroll down to the harbour on the way home from the pub is one of life’s simple pleasures that can be enjoyed here.
Our location in Portree is tranquil but still provides easy access to Skye’s most popular attractions, shops, restaurants, bars, and live music in summer.
We are a few hundred metres away from several fantastic dining experiences. Not least, Scorrybreac Restaurant, which features in the Michellin guide and is a 2-3 minute stroll away. ÒranEas is only 6-7 minutes walk from Skye’s most popular local seafood, served at Seabreezes on Portree Harbour.
From the house itself, there is a quiet nature walk along the coastline of Loch Portree and on to the stunning views East towards the Isle of Raasay. You will love the short climb up Ben Chracaig to take in the incredible views south to Ben Tianavaig, The Cuillin and down to harbour of Portree.
You can wander over to the harbour during the day to board one of the many wildlife boat trips that depart daily. There are boat tours to suit everyone. From evening champagne cruises, to dolphin spotting fast boat tours, and relaxed trips to spot sea birds and sea eagles.
You’ll have the benefit of walking from the house around the local shops to buy locally made gifts to take back home. ÒranEas is a short walk from the small Co-op grocery store, so you will not be far from the essentials: shortbread, scones, tea, and coffee.
